Day 3 - Earth Week Miami Official Celebration at Mango's

Join us for the launch of Runa Ray's Student Sargassum Project! We are focusing on Sargassum, the invasive seaweed increasingly affecting the coasts of Miami Beach and disrupting both marine ecosystems and the tourism economy. Runa is fashion designer and environmentalist working with a new bio-material called Kelptex (Kelptex is developed in collaboration with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the World Bank, the United Nations, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and Swarovski, and has been nominated twice for the Earthshot Prize, as well as selected as a semifinalist for the Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge). Runa is in collaboration with a design student, who will develop a garment that speaks to the future of fashion/product design.
