About
Michel Thomas and The ECO Channel: A Catalyst for Global Change
Owner Michel Thomas originally founded his company in New York City in 1994 as a publishing house with the launch of Accents on Hair Magazine, establishing an early focus on storytelling, culture, and audience engagement. Building on this media foundation, the organization evolved into VSN Network, partnering with Comcast to produce and distribute original content for businesses as part of Comcast’s Spotlight program lineup, gaining critical experience in broadcast standards, distribution, and advertiser-driven media.
Vision and Mandate
In 2020, in response to growing global environmental, economic, and social challenges, The ECO Channel was officially launched and was the very first "Green TV" channel in the US dedicated to the nature economy and sustainable, eco-friendly innovations with a clear and urgent mandate: to inform, educate, and elevate public discourse around the most pressing issues facing our planet. The channel was designed from inception as a global platform, recognizing that climate, sustainability, finance, and technology are inherently interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation. Our mission is simple: to spotlight initiatives designed to make our planet healthier, safer, and more sustainable for all.
Recognition and Impact
In 2022, The ECO Channel's innovative approach and significant impact were nationally recognized when it received the Comcast RISE Media Award. This accolade honored the channel as one of the most forward-thinking television platforms in the United States, underscoring its role as a leader in environmental media.
Today, The ECO Channel produces and distributes documentaries, original television series, and in-depth interviews, reporting from cities and regions around the world. Its global reach is not incidental, it is strategic. What happens in one city, one market, or one ecosystem inevitably reverberates across borders. This international lens positions The ECO Channel as a vital media partner for cities seeking to amplify their sustainability initiatives, attract global investment, and engage audiences who understand that local action drives global impact. The ECO Channel can be found on Amazon Fire TV, ROKU TV, Android TV, Vimeo, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
